Fuel Black marketers, Civil Defense Clash in Abuja


Saturday May 16: This morning, men of the Nigerian Security and  Civil Defense Corps descended on Fuel Black Marketers behind Conoil Filling Station, Area 1, Garki, Abuja The hunted resisted arrest and fought back. There was  pandemonium, sporadic gunshots and throwing of stones. Passers-by and motorists scampered for safety, babies were crying (and I was taking photos). Injuries were sustained on both sides. Unlucky marketers who got arrested were beaten up mercilessly.
